JCI European Conference 2027 (EC2027)
The JCI European Conference 2027 takes place from 2 to 5 June 2027 in The Hague, Netherlands — one of the most accessible European Conferences for Belgian young professionals in years. Under the theme “Metamorphosis,” more than 1,500 young leaders, entrepreneurs and changemakers from over 30 countries will come together for four days of training, keynotes, competitions, networking and a memorable gala.
JCI Belgium is sending its own delegation — EC Low Countries 27, organised by Commissie Den Haag (JCI Leuven) and led by Jo Nijns, Simon Meurs and Michael Verbeeck. Whether you’re a seasoned JCI member or new to the network, this is your chance to represent Belgium at Europe’s flagship young-professionals congress.

What is the JCI European Conference?
The JCI European Conference (EC) is the largest annual event organised by Junior Chamber International in Europe. Each year, a different member organisation in a different country hosts the conference, bringing together young active citizens aged 18 to 40 from across the continent.
At the European Conference, participants take part in:
- Leadership workshops and official JCI training sessions led by European and global changemakers
- Keynote speeches on topics ranging from entrepreneurship to global policy
- Public speaking and debate competitions, including the European Debating Championship
- The Creative Young Entrepreneur (CYE) competition, showcasing projects with real impact
- The Belgian reception — JCI Belgium’s signature networking dinner with European national presidents
- A closing gala and awards ceremony honouring outstanding members, chapters and projects from across Europe
The conference is open to JCI members, alumni, senators and — through many national delegations — non-members who meet the age criterion.

It is the first time The Hague welcomes the EC — a fitting choice for a city that serves as the world’s international centre of peace and justice, home to the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, Europol and over 200 international organisations.

Getting there from Belgium
The Hague is roughly 2.5 hours from Brussels by direct train via Amsterdam or Rotterdam, and about 3 hours by car. International delegates typically fly into Amsterdam Schiphol (30 minutes by train to The Hague) or Rotterdam The Hague Airport (15 minutes to the Fokker Terminal). For Belgian members, this makes EC2027 one of the most reachable European Conferences in recent memory — comparable to Bruges 2022 in terms of practicality.
The Belgian Delegation: “Low Countries 27 – high spirits”
JCI Belgium travels to The Hague as a united delegation under the name EC Low Countries 27 – High spirits, organised by Commissie “Den Haag” (JCI Leuven). The delegation targets approximately 150 Belgian participants – making it one of the larger national groups at the conference.

The delegation package is designed so you can focus entirely on the experience. Included in the standard packages:

Why Belgian young professionals should go to the EC?
Belgium has one of the strongest traditions in the European Conference. JCI Belgium organised the 2022 European Conference in Bruges — welcoming 1,500+ delegates from across Europe. Before that, JCI Belgium hosted the 2011 World Congress in Brussels, with 4,550 participants from 101 countries.
At every EC, the Belgian delegation stands out: its own reception, coordinated merchandise, and a shared pride in representing a country that has long been at the heart of European cooperation. Many Belgian members describe the EC as the experience that defined their JCI membership.
As one first-time delegate who attended EC 2022 in Bruges put it: “As soon as we experienced the totally amazing opening ceremony, any worries I had were gone.”
