JCI Belgium

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors for the current operational year 2026.

What is the role of the Board of JCI Belgium?

The Board of Directors of JCI Belgium is responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and overall performance of the organization at national level.

The Board ensures that JCI Belgium’s mission, values, and long-term vision are translated into concrete priorities, programs, and results, in close collaboration with the regional organizations and local chapters. The Presidents of JCI Vlaanderen and JCI Belgium Wallonie Bruxelles are full members of the Board, ensuring strong alignment between the national and regional levels and a unified approach across the country.

Focus national and regional level

The national level focuses primarily on:

  • Opening international opportunities for Belgian members
  • Representing JCI Belgium at European and global JCI events
  • Building and maintaining international partnerships and twinnings
  • Bringing global JCI initiatives to Belgium and adapting them to the national context

The regional level (JCI Vlaanderen and JCI Belgium Wallonie Bruxelles) focuses on:

  • Strengthening cohesion among local chapters
  • Supporting internal networking and collaboration
  • Ensuring the operational health and development of their member organizations
  • Together, national and regional teams create a strong bridge between local engagement and international exposure.

Alignment with the global agenda

JCI Belgium actively contributes to and implements key priorities from the global JCI agenda, including:

  • Global initiatives such as rebranding
  • International training and certification programs
  • Strategic frameworks and standards set by JCI at European and world level
  • Representation in 2026 global commissions and committees:
    • Membership Engagement Committee: Morgan Deschoemacker (JCI Tournai)
    • Skills Development Commission Chairperson for Europe: Ben Teirlinck (JCI Brussel)
    • Global Collaboration Committee: Erwan Marion (JCI Bruxelles)
    • JCI Europe Finance Committee: Simon Meurs (JCI Leuven)

The Board ensures that these initiatives are translated into action in Belgium and that organizational KPIs are met across the country by coordinating closely with the regional organizations.

On the global level for 2026, we report into Vice President Jana-Daniela Sabatkova (JCI Czech Republic), along with 6 other countries in our group (JCI Luxembourg, JCI Netherlands, JCI France, JCI Monaco, JCI Italy, JCI Catalonia) report into Executive Vice President for JCI Europe Stefanie Van der Sman (JCI Netherlands).

Jana-Daniela and Stefanie are in this way representing JCI Belgium in the JCI Board of Directors, under World President Alejandra Castillo (JCI Bolivia).

To facilitate alignment on specific matters between the countries, there is a self-organized group of experienced advisors, where Serge Goussaert (Senator from JCI Diksmuide) has been appointed to support a group of National Organizations that includes JCI Belgium.
